What's next in 2026

Thanks to the incredible enthusiasm, we’ve created a new exciting race.

The Richard Jackson Squadron Relay

This is a nod to our previous Chair, who was part of the club for just over 60 years.  He created this fun race on one of our after-our-swim pub visits. It was a great evening with lots of laughs.

If you do not have a team or a full team, please put a note in your registration and we will pair you up.

The details:

The relay consists of 5 swimmers

 - one of which must be a woman

 - and another a vet.

Each next length must be

 - swum in different stroke to the previous one

 - a total of 30 lengths are swum (each swimmer swims 1 length each time, 6 times).

Date:     21 October

Time:     7pm

Entry:    £50 per team  or £10 for individual entry and we allocate you to a team

Underwater Swimmer
Training

As a club we do not offer coach led training sessions but we do like to swim together.  We meet up once a month, generally the first Tuesday of the month, usually at 18.30 and each time at a different London Leisure Centre swimming pool.

The Training evenings are informal. Each swimmer books their own space directly with the pool. We meet in the pool and follow each other to a programme we print out for the evening.

And...if you have time, come along for a friendly refreshment at a local pub afterwards.

Please join us in the pool for a few laps on the dates and pools below.

About us

The Stock Exchange Swimming Club (SESC) has been around since 1911. We provide swimmers a challenge by proving their training in 5 different types  and styles of competitions.

The competitions are open to all city professionals of London to attend. Training is usaually swum individually and independent of the club, however a few of us do meet once a month to train together.

The setting we provide is relaxed and offers opportunity for swimmers to compete at different levels. We provide a place to meet other like minded professionals from across the city.

In the Beginning

Mens Water Polo Team 1928 part of Stock Exchange Swimming Club

The Stock Exchange Swimming Club (SESC) was formed in 1911.  It had 2 parts the Water Polo team and the Swimming Team. Over time the Water Polo team folded but we have continued.

The club had a break for both world wars and the pandemic.

It has been a part of the community for over a century and soon will be celebrating its 100th Gala!
